WEEK 4: GRACE
“The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.” (Titus 2:11 NIV)
WEEK 4: GRACE
What a comfort that it’s the grace of God that brings salvation. Not the judgment of God, not the holiness of God, not even the love of God, in itself. God is a holy judge. He is love itself. But holiness and love were in tension over the rebel race on planet Earth. The holiness of God could not compromise His need to distance Himself from sin. The love of God could not remain distant.
WRAPPED IN JESUS
God created a race that would eventually fall. He also redeemed a race that would eventually be glorified with His own Son. Love, holiness, judgment, affection, righteousness, grace and mercy—they’re all wrapped up in Jesus and we are now all wrapped up in Him. God’s gracious love has snatched us from certain condemnation and clothed us in royal robes. As we will see and celebrate this week.
God’s grace has clothed us with honor. It has given us respect, and provided us with a relationship with Him through His Son. This relationship has filled us with the love of His Son. It has empowered us to display that love to others through tolerance and patient perseverance. Praise God for His amazing grace this week!
