WEEK 2: FORGIVENESS
Revival starts with repentance. “If My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).”
WEEK 2: FORGIVENESS
This week’s focus is on forgiving. Understanding forgiveness could be the greatest obstacle to a believer in Christ. I contend it is the key to living in victory and experiencing revival. First, we may resist accepting undeserved forgiveness, which belongs to us through Christ Jesus. Second, the willingness to forgive those who have wronged us can be very difficult. This is especially true when we feel giving it is undeserved. Either way, the keyword here is “undeserved.”
To be forgiven is something none of us deserves. Not one. And yet, Christ made a way for us to receive it as a free gift through his sacrifice. That person, who wronged you may not deserve it either but Jesus taught us that we should forgive them anyway.
This week we will focus on the essential qualities of true forgiving. Similar to last week, it starts with our inner lives. The ability to see the truth about ourselves, others and God through transparency, integrity and honesty. And like last week, with repentance, we will also see the outer fruit of forgiveness. Which include, trust, empathy and generosity.
