WEEK 4, DAY 25: WE PUT OUR TRUST
We Put Our Trust by Prescott Khair, Bowling Green SDA Church
Scripture Reference: Esther 2
Prayer
As we think about Esther 2 today please join me as we pray.
Dear Father God we come to you in a time of turmoil and difficulty. Much like the days of Esther. Much like the days of Mordecai. Much like the day so of the Jews living in a foreign land. We come to you knowing that times are difficult and things are anything but certain. As we have a lots of uncertainty in our lives as we understand that there are fears and trepidation with the days that are coming ahead of us or the days that may have passed behind us. We are sure and we are certain that wherever we are in our life that we can be secure and steady in your arms. Like Esther sometimes we don’t see you explicitly working but we know, God, that you are working behind the scenes in mighty and powerful ways to accomplish your purpose and good because you are a just and loving God.
We don’t put our trust in human powers or the kingdoms around us. We don’t put our trust in the purposes of human beings and the plans we have ourselves. We put our trust and our security and our safety fully and firmly in you because you are good. Lord we know that there are those in this world and that Satan is active in this world, the enemy is active in this world, and that there are those in this world who are out to give only evil hurt. Those who are intending ill and pain and those intending to attack and those who are intending to attack and those who are intending to destroy all things that are good and all things that are focused on you.
Today Jesus we recognize that we as followers of you are also objects of attack by the enemy. The enemy has plans to tear down and destroy but God you are stronger and you have defeated the enemy in a mighty and powerful way. And we know that no matter what happens hear on this Earth that you are the one who will win. You have won the victory and all you are doing is mopping up the last little bits of Satan’s rebellion.
So God right now as we come to you we come much in the spirit of Esther; much in the spirit of Mordecai; much in the spirit of Esther chapter 2. And we turn our eyes on you. Whether implicit or explicit we know that you are working. Whether we don’t know the exact purposes and plans we still rely and trust on you because we know that you have led in the past and will lead in the future. And that no matter what happens you are always in control. And so sovereign God who is in charge of this universe; who is in charge of this world; who is of charge me. I’m turning over my life to you; my purposes and my plan; and I trust and rely fully on you. Amen.
