WEEK 2, DAY 11: HONESTY
Scripture Reference: Mark 11:1-25
Honesty is a characteristic that many of us learn at a very early age. Many of us have either seen it displayed in those who provided us guidance in our early childhood. It also could’ve been one of our earliest expectations when interacting with others. I learned at an early age, “a man’s word was his bond”. When an individual had an honest reputation, they were able to build strong and lasting relationships. When providing guidance to select Deacons, the twelve disciples said, “Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business” Act 6:3. An honest character is foundational for God to use us for His business.
EVERY INTERACTION MATTERS
As we go about our daily lives there are many unique business interactions. We have the blessed privilege to display, a God established, honest character, that can impact God’s business in a postive way. Every interaction matters. You may interact or have an encounter with one broken soul. And that soul, through your honest spirit may prove instrumental with a number beyond your imagination. Imagine, it all began with your display of a, God established, honest character. In 1st Peter 2:12, Peter said, “Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation”.
HONESTY EQUALS HONOR
The word “honest” comes from the Latin phrase “to honor.” God has given us the privilege to honor Him by being honest is all our dealings. Often the world chooses to be dishonest in dealing with others. However, we who are servants of our loving God, honor Him every day through our honest character that God established. “Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men”, Roman 12:17. What others see in the character of the believer may be the first Bible they read.

Pray:
Dear heavenly Father, we thank You for taking our lives from being dishonorably discharged from a relationship with You because of our sin nature. We thank You for giving us the privilege to bring You honor through Your son Jesus Christ. Father. We thank You because You’ve delivered, kept, and provided for us. We recognize that we’re what we are because of Your grace and mercy. Thank You for entrusting us to honor You and may our lives richly bless Your holy and righteous name. Amen
